Training for a Junior Behavioral Therapist involves a several lecture series on the principles implemented, supplemental readings, video reviews, observations of sessions and applied training. This applied training is based on relevant research which validated effective staff training procedures. The Junior Behavioral Therapist will not be expected to work with a child independently until the mentor, trainer and the therapist are comfortable. Individuals with prior experience implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis will be given a skills assessment in order to identify areas where supplementary training may be required. Once these areas have been identified the training will be provided. In addition, TLC provides its staff with ongoing training in the form of bi-weekly working clinics for each child on their caseload as well as monthly training on specific topics. These ongoing trainings are provided in an effort to insure that the individuals who are providing the direct services to children are knowledgeable and skilled. Ongoing training is also provided to employees as necessary and when each employee meets the criteria to move into a higher position within TLC. |
